Milwaukee Public Schools is currently seeking DPI licensed School Counselor candidates for four full-time positions. Placements include Douglas MS, Pulaski HS, Riverside HS, and WCLL K-12. These positions are in MPS schools that will follow the Early Start school calendar for the 2022-23 school year.
A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) counselor provides support services to students, staff, and parents. The duties are focused on the overall delivery counseling program realized through guidance curriculum, individual student planning and responsive services. Additional responsibilities include school programming in Infinite Campus, student rostering/scheduling, maintaining individual student Academic and Career Plans, etc. The school counseling program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and helps all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development. The counselor's work supports the MPS strategic plan.

Interview panels may request candidates to submit additional items including, but not limited to, letters of recommendation, sample lesson plans, referrence lists, and/or writing samples.
At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and a copy of official transcripts verifying his/her conferred undergraduate and graduate degree, if applicable.
Eligible applicant must hold or be eligible to hold a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction School Counselor license (7054).

The counselor (teacher) salary range starts at $46,144.00 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 counseling experience.
