Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist
Position Overview:
The Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for technical and patient care functions related to Cardiovascular Ultrasound imaging in the mobile and/or fixed site environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform Cardiovascular ultrasound studies, including echocardiogram and carotid ultrasound imaging for physician review. Some positions may require general ultrasound imaging.
2. Must follow the specific protocols established by Digirad for cardiovascular ultrasound.
3. Prepare and tear down mobile operations at customer site, including but not limited to loading/unloading of equipment in/out of van; set up/tear down of equipment at customer site; and disposal of all medical waste.
4. Drive company car (if mobile) and follow Safety regulations for purpose of transporting equipment, medical supplies, and self to customer site.
5. Complete daily paperwork at customer site, including photocopying and faxing of customer logs and patient information as necessary.
6. Complete the loading/delivery of all cardiovascular ultrasound images via the standard delivery method for each location each day.
7. Comply with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards.
8. At all times act under the general or the direct supervision of the physician customer, as applicable.
Qualifications:
o Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect
o Be dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to our customers and their patients.
o Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas
o Able to work independently and under pressure.
o Be present at the customer site no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time
Education and Experience:
o Demonstrate current competency and skills by documentation of BS, AS degree or certification in cardiovascular ultrasound (either through ARDMS or CCI).
o A minimum of one (1) or more years experience, preferably with an emphasis in Cardiovascular Ultrasound in a hospital, private practice or mobile setting.
o RDCS and/or RVT is strongly preferred, must be at least registry-eligible.
o Must have current certification demonstrating successful completion of an American Heart Association BLS/CPR course.
Physical Activities:
o Must be able to stand for a long period of time
o Daily pushing/pulling of medical equipment up to 400 lbs.
