Summary of the Position:

The Novavax Global Program Management (GPM) department contributes to the company's strategic business objectives by driving the company's vaccine product development and commercialization programs. This is accomplished through managing end to end program and project quality, scope, schedules, and budgets, facilitating idea exchange, and identifying/escalating project risks, all within an established governance model.

We are seeking highly motivated full-time Program Manager / Senior Program Manager with experience in either overall vaccine development and commercialization or functional program management in supply chain, global commercial launch, lifecycle management, and late-stage commercialization who would like the opportunity to thrive, learn, and grow in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.

Location is flexible.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build working relationships with members of the Commercial, Supply Chain, Project / Program, Alliance teams and cross-functional sub-teams to plan, schedule, monitor and control the execution of program and project activities.
  • Independently address key program risks by managing ad hoc teams to develop solutions for decision by senior management.
  • Implement project management best practices to ensure on-time completion of milestones in fulfillment of corporate objectives.
  • Apply advanced project and program management tools and techniques for issue and risk management: identification, mitigation, and escalation through the established project governance model.
  • Own and manage the project plan and schedule, interact regularly with the project leads to status project activities, and facilitate meetings and project team discussions.
  • Prepare project reports to internal and external stakeholders using established templates and processes; in particular, ensure submission of key deliverables to external funding organizations.
  • Help promote a culture of project and program excellence by applying best practices and standards in project and program management, and serve as a program management resource to functional areas.
  • Execute other duties as assigned to ensure programmatic success.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • PMP certification highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the biotech and pharma or related industries; experience managing vaccine development and /or global late-stage commercialization and launches is strongly preferred.
  • Substantial experience in building and maintaining project plans using Microsoft Project is required.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working with high-performing cross-functional teams; and have an ability to engage and motivate teams to address mission critical problems.
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationships across organizational disciplines, and throughout the organizational hierarchy.
  • Must enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced environment, operating independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, and the ability to distill complicated issues into concise communications for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Eager to be a member of a positive and high-energy team of program managers.
