STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Quality Inspector in Danbury, Connecticut.

Position Summary:

Conduct inspection activities to evaluate product conformity with engineering drawings and/or models.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform intricate inspection tasks to assess product conformity with engineering specifications.
  • Inspect products, components, subassemblies, and systems to ensure adherence to requirements.
  • Contribute to organizational improvement by implementing innovative solutions and best practices across the product realization value stream.
  • Assist Quality Engineers in identifying non-conforming conditions that may lead to defects at the system or subsystem level.
  • Supervise the development of inspection plans and checklists.
  • Assist in data collection and root cause analysis investigations.
  • Issue discrepancy notices and initiate Material Review Board actions.
  • Execute material movement transactions post-inspection.
  • Specialize in various inspection types including receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, and final inspection.
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, values, and culture.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of technical experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in relevant manufacturing standards (e.g., J-Std-001/IPC-A-610) or mechanical techniques such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices.
  • Ability to utilize diverse measurement devices (e.g., calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges) for mechanical part verification.
  • Experience in interpreting mechanical drawings and verifying part dimensions against drawing requirements.
  • Desirable experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical comparator, or other complex inspection systems.
