POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Lead Bus Specialist will provide direct support on the production line to resolve electrical and programming issues identified during the electrical checkout process of online coaches, with a particular focus on the first coach of each contract.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Investigate and resolve electrical and programming issues encountered during the production line's electrical checkout phase.
  • Participate in the electrical checkouts of the initial coach in each order.
  • Develop and release programming updates and additional engineering solutions when necessary
  • Assist in issue resolution by analyzing J1939 network traffic as required
  • Conduct in-plant testing of electrical and programming solutions in collaboration with colleagues
  • Support supplier application approvals, vendor tests, config audits, and other online activities as needed.
  • Provide regular status updates on online builds, identifying and addressing potential obstacles to timely deliveries
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Electrical/Engineering Technology, or a comparable qualification.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years of related industry/technology experience.
  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems.
  • Understanding of high-voltage systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
