The Controller is responsible for financial oversight of Retrax, a RealTruck manufacturing entity. This includes ownership of the monthly closing process from which financial statements are reconciled and delivered timely and accurately in accordance with company accounting policies and GAAP. They ensure the entity's SOX controls are operating in compliance with company policy. The Controller manages the entity's annual operating plan and forecasting processes. Additionally, they perform financial statement variance analysis identifying risks and impacts. As a key business partner, the Controller collaborates with local leadership and provides insights to drive productivity and cost savings through lean manufacturing activities and key performance indicators.

Position Requirements:

  • Ensure financials are reconciled and reported in accordance with company accounting policies and GAAP.
    • Have a solid foundation of company and GAAP accounting policies.
    • Manage external and internal audits, as necessary.
    • Timely and accurate financial reporting, including full Balance Sheet reconciliations.
    • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
    • Ensure SOX controls compliance to company policy.
    • Own financial statement analysis.
  • Execute planning processes in accordance with company policies.
    • Plans, coordinate, execute and monitors annual operating plan.
    • Lead, validate and drive monthly forecasting process.
    • Identify and explain variance analysis, business risks, drivers, and impacts.
  • Serve as key business partner for Product Supply (Manufacturing).
    • Proactively lead financial collaboration across manufacturing lean activities and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Serve as an advisor to the local leadership team.
    • Support lean manufacturing Compass room through tracking, maintaining, and validating project work from ideation to completion.
  • Support company strategic initiatives.
  • Establish annual department and individual goals and manage employee performance.
  • Development of Finance team members technical and soft skillsets for continued growth and advancement.
  • Drive, sustain and improve employee engagement to ensure business continuity and success.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. MBA desired.
  • 6+ years' experience in finance, accounting or related field including 2+ year in a manager role in a manufacturing environment required.

Required Licenses:

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

  • Strong manufacturing cost accounting knowledge and skills; standard cost skills are highly desired.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using critical problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Adaptable leadership skills to adapt to new circumstances and lead through transition.
  • Experienced leadership skills in fostering a positive and productive work environment; Motivates and inspires others to achieve their best performance.
  • Coaching skills to grow and develop others.
  • Thorough understanding of data management systems; Manufacturing ERP experience preferred. Take a lead role in system usage, including ERP software, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Blackline account reconciliation tool.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
