The IT Business Analyst is responsible for providing IT support for our line of business applications, assisting with project management, and streamlining business processes.

This position can be based at any of the following Knife River locations:

*Bismarck, ND
*Sioux Falls, SD
*Sioux City, IA
*Sauk Rapids, MN
*Bryan, TX
*Medford, Tangent, or Portland, OR
*Boise, ID
*Billings, MT

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Requires knowledge of business systems and processes at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, management information systems or related field.
2. Four to six years of experience in software package configuration, installation, integration and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Familiarity with systems that support the construction materials and civil construction industry.
2. Knowledgeable of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server a plus.
3. Knowledge of software package deployment in an Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
4. Knowledge of mobile applications deployed on tablets and smart phones.
5. Experience in business process optimization.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Implement corporate Line of Business software.
2. Designs, develops and delivers end training and support for end users.
3. Assist in the design and development of integrations between Line of Business systems and the JDE financial system.
4. Maintain software with proper patches, version upgrades and modules following corporate policies and procedures.
5. Work with software vendor support to address bugs in package code.
6. Provide application and technical support to Line of Business users.
7. Ensure all software modifications have been fully tested and documented following corporate policies and procedures.
8. Produce and maintain documentation on all systems.
9. Remain technically competent by constantly expanding technology knowledge.
10. Participates in business process review and re-engineering efforts to enhance business processes.
11. Work independently with users, internal IT resources, and software package vendors to automate or enhance business processes.
12. Develop business requirements, technical specifications, test plans, and training plans to ensure technology projects are in line with business objectives.
13. Participate in root cause analysis in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business and IT.
14. May act as a project manager on some projects.
15. Support Knife River cybersecurity requirements.
16. Travel to subsidiary companies for application implementations and support will be required.
17. Available to assist with scheduled on-call support and technical emergencies as required.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

6. Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality of all company information.
